- Walmart: 12:00 a.m. ET (midnight) on April 24. Walmart also stated that eligible pre-orders could arrive before 9:00 a.m. ET on June 5, while supplies last, if ordered by June 4 at 8:00 a.m. ET.

Why the pre-order date changed
Nintendo’s initial plan was to begin pre-orders earlier in April, but the company delayed the start date to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. In its pricing update, Nintendo also apologized for the pre-order delay and said it hoped the announcement would reduce uncertainty for customers.
Tips to improve your chances of landing a pre-order
- Sign in to your retailer accounts in advance and confirm shipping address details.
- Save a payment method ahead of time to avoid checkout delays.
- Use multiple devices (for example, desktop and mobile app) where supported.
- If you get a queue or error page, keep trying. Stock can appear in waves.
- Avoid third-party listings with inflated prices, especially during the first few hours.
