Bethesda has announced that Starfield will launch on September 6, 2023 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The date was revealed alongside a new trailer and an update on when fans can expect a deeper gameplay presentation.

What Bethesda announced
In the announcement post, Bethesda described Starfield as its first new universe in more than two decades and said the team would share much more during a dedicated Starfield Direct presentation. Bethesda set Starfield Direct for June 11, 2023, immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase.
The news also clarified that the game would arrive later than the previously stated first half of 2023 window, giving the studio additional time to finalize the release.
What to expect from Starfield
Bethesda has positioned Starfield as a large scale sci fi role playing game set in a region called the Settled Systems. Players create a character, customize skills, and take on missions across planets, cities, and space locations, with ship building and exploration as major pillars of the experience.

Bethesda said Starfield Direct would serve as the main deep dive into gameplay systems and world details. Players can also follow official updates through Bethesda.net and Xbox channels as launch approaches.
